Shalom! And a hearty welcome to the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue, Holland Park
We are one of the oldest synagogues in London and surprisingly still one of the capital’s best kept secrets.
Founded, in the early 1900s, by West London’s Sephardi immigrant community originating from Turkey and Salonika, Holland Park Synagogue is a really special place, full of warmth and tradition. Over the years, we have attracted members from Gibraltar, Egypt, Persia, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Bahrain, Israel and most recently France to name but a few.
Holland Park Synagogue has maintained its own independence as a unique place of worship, with beautiful architecture, its own liturgy and traditions that are not found anywhere else in London. Holland Park Synagogue is one of the most beautiful places to worship and celebrate being Jewish.
Prayer & Worship
We offer a dynamic blend of worship opportunities that span from the small and intimate to grand classical services incorporating its own liturgy and traditions that are not found anywhere else in London. Holland Park provides a truly awe-inspiring space in which to practice Jewish ritual life.
Learning - Shiurim are currently taking place online via Zoom - all other learning, except Keren's Nursery is currently suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Our educational programs are first-class. Our goal is to provide for a lifetime of Jewish learning, including, Keren's Nursery for pre-schoolers, Talmud Torah class for 4 to 6 year olds, Or Torah' classes for children, Bar and Bat Mitzvah programmes, talks, book launches and regular Shiurim. We also host a sizable library wherein our members may borrow books at no charge (by arrangement only).
Now, as always, Holland Park Synagogue is your home.
